This program is designed especially for children ages 9 to 11 who may be staying home alone for the first time or need to learn more skills for parents to be comfortable leaving them home alone. Topics include: handling the unexpected, stranger danger, simple first aid, dealing with loneliness and boredom, storm safety, trust and honesty. Music+Movies features a local band followed by an outdoor movie on four Fridays in June. The series is free, and picnic baskets and lawn chairs are encouraged. Concessions and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Coolers permitted, no glass please. No pets allowed for special events.
Ackermann's Swim Program has been teaching children ages 4 to 11 the life skill of swimming and water safety in Kirkwood for over 60 years. Our non-competitive, safe teaching environment builds confidence and self-esteem.
