This weekend my family and I were lucky enough to catch
a rocking performance of Dan Zanes and his Friends at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA). As we approached the entrance, I realized that a large blue Wings in the City fiberglass butterfly was welcoming us to COCA!
When we were kids, going to camp meant a week of swimming, hiking and crafts by day and telling ghost stories around the campfire by night. Fast forward to 2011. These days, “going to camp” means learning a new language, honing soccer skills or exploring a new painting technique.
But camp doesn’t only happen during the dog days of summer. Plenty of places around town offer spring break camps.
At this Free @ 3 Community Days event, students will explore printmaking techniques using cut linoleum blacks, stamps and a variety of inks. Ages 7 to 12. 3 to 4 p.m. Free. Center of Creative Arts.
