Join Sugi Taylor for a paper folding frenzy! In honor of Japanese Children’s Day on May 5, Sugi will demonstrate how to make origami Samurai warrior helmets, kimonos, cranes and other pieces of intricately folded paper art. 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ages 2 to 10. Double your fun with a two for one program! Hike at beautiful Emmenegger Nature Park. Observe, discuss and identify plants and wildlife discovered along the way. Then learn the basics of safe archery and practice your skills in an open field with stationary targets. All equipment will be provided. Reservations are required. Ages 14 and up, 14-17 with a registered adult. 9 a.m. to noon. Free. Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center.

Volunteers are welcome at The Magic House! Along with St. Louis Volunteen.com, The Magic House is hosting the St. Louis Youth and Family Volunteer Event. This communitywide event will feature over 20 different not-for-profit organizations in need of volunteers. A variety of organizations will be represented offering volunteer experiences that fit many interests and goals. All ages. 1 to 4 p.m. Price of admission is one can of food per person. Lil' Bear Baseball Day Camp at Washington University

Washington University in St. Louis Baseball hosts a week-long baseball day camp in which boys and girls will learn baseball basics, play in the sun (and shade) and best of all - have FUN! With an age-appropriate curriculum and a safe environment, our college baseball coaches will show your son or daughter what it takes to be a Lil' Bear through instruction, games, wiffle ball, and – because every kid wants to get in the pool – SWIM TIME!
