Sounds of the Season at St. Charles County Heritage Museum

Celebrate the season at this free concert where you'll sip hot apple cider and tour the museum's transporation exhibit.

The St. Charles County Heritage Museum is hosting a free Sounds of the Season concert. Visitors will also enjoy hot apple cider and be able to tour the museum's transporation exhibit at no cost. The first 50 guests will receive a complimentary commemorative ornament.

Musical performances include the Greenleaf Singers at 1:30 p.m., the Peine Ridge Elementary Singspirations Chior at 2:30 p.m. and City Voices Chorus - Sunday Picnic Quartet at 4 p.m.

2nd Annual Soulard Chili Festival

This festival has something for all ages. Parents can enjoy sampling chili from popular St. Louis restaurants while kids have a blast in the Kids' Zone, which features a 40-foot pirate ship with a giant slide, rock wall and bounce house, games, a face painter, free ice cream and a visit from Fredbird!

Taste chili samples from some of St. Louis' most popular restaurants and help determine which one will win bragging rights for the Best Chili, People's Choice, Most Creative Chili and Best Decorated Booth, all while listening to live music and enjoying the historic Soulard Market neighborhood.

A Concert for the Sippy-Cup Crowd

If your kids are fans of Nickelodeon they're likely fans of Laurie Berkner too. An award-winning children's recording artist, Berkner had been called "the Pied Piper of preschool (Parenting magazine), and "a kind of sippy-cup Sheryl Crow (Time). This former preschool teacher has been performing for 10 years and was a regular on Nick Jr.'s Jack's Big Music Show.

Imagination Movers, the Emmy-winning performers of rockin' kids music and stars of their own TV series on Disney Junior are coming to St. Louis for one live show on Sunday, Oct. 14.

The Movers' 2011 live show was the most popular famly act of 2011, and their 2012 Rock-O-Matic Tour showcases their high-energy rock and onstage silliness that appeals to kids and parents alike.

Free Family Jazz Concert at Touhill Performing Art Center

Take your kids to this free concert at the Touhill for a fun, multi-media introduction to jazz. Get Hip! illuminates some of jazz's cultural origins, the concert of improvisation, and the function of responsibility of each individual member of the jazz ensemble.

Don't miss the intrument "petting zoo" and face painters in the lobby starting one hour before the show. No tickets are required.

Two popular performers for kids, Suzi Shelton of Brooklyn and Little Miss Ann of Chicago will appear together for the first time at Off Broadway in St. Louis on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Shelton has won numerous awards for her children's music, and is a former preschool teacher. She loves to teach kids to dance and to see her music inspire kids and their parents to get up and move around.

Ackermann's Swim Program

Ackermann's Swim Program has been teaching children ages 4 to 11 the life skill of swimming and water safety in Kirkwood for over 60 years. Our non-competitive, safe teaching environment builds confidence and self-esteem.

Group swim lessons take place in four heated pools with different water levels for progressive, safe learning. Enroll in one-week or two-week sessions. Hours are 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, with drop off and pick up at the curb. Visit ASPKirkwood.com to download an application.
