Preschoolers can learn about the many different baby animals born this time of year at Shaw Nature Reserve.

Springtime is the season for baby animals. Learn about the many different kinds of animals born this time of year. You will be able to take a little bit of spring home with you. Little Acorns classes are an excellent way to help prepare your child for pre-school or kindergarten! Please dress for the weather. One adult per child, please.

For ages 3-5. 10 a.m. to noon.
At Shaw Nature Reserve, Highway 100, south of I-44 at exit #253, Gray Summit, MO  63039.

Drop in and explore Missouri's mammals at Shaw Nature Reserve. A variety of pelts and other items will be used to teach folks about the lives and adaptations of the Show Me State's furbearers.

Stop by the Nature Explore Classroom for a few minutes, or an hour, to hear what our volunteer Teacher Naturalists have to show you about our state's amazing mammals. No registration is required.

This class is designed to give families a chance to enjoy fun, nature-based experiences together. Join us as we take a close-up look into the lives of frogs and toads.

Through the citizen scientist project, FrogWatch, we will learn about these fascinating amphibians and be able to identify them by their calls.

Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

Visit the Missouri Botanical Garden and receive a tree, plant or sapling in honor of Arbor Day.

The first 600 visitors at the Missouri Botanical Garden will receive a free tree, plant or sapling in honor of Arbor Day. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and give advice on planting trees in the spring.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or while supplies last. Included with Garden admission.

Full Moon Night Hike at Shaw Nature Reserve

Kids (ages 8 and up) and their families are invited to experience Shaw Nature Reserve in the evening on this two-hour nature adventure.

Watching a full moon rise over the Shaw Nature Reserve is quite the sight! Take a 2 hour stroll through evening and into the early night. Sunset will occur around 7:20, and will be followed by moonrise at 8:02. Apart from viewing this natural spectacle, you will also learn about crepuscular and nocturnal animals. In addition, we will play a series of games (fun for adults too!) that test your senses.

Fazio’s Rock Academy

Fazio’s Rock Academy is the summer destination for the aspiring rock star in your life! Campers attend one-week or two-week sessions (8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. daily) where they form a real band, choose a band name, write their own music, pose for a photo shoot and conclude with a live concert with special guest appearances by professional rock artists! Fazio's Rock Academy is for Guitarists, Vocalists, Bassists and Keyboardists between the ages of 9-17 years.

Two sessions are offered: July 15-19; and July 22-26. Each session is $399, which includes print music and a t-shirt. Ask about a discounted rate for two-week enrollment.
