The annual USATF Certified Firecracker Run sponsored by the O'Fallon, Missouri Chamber of Commerce will be held Wednesday, July 4. The race begins at 7 a.m. and consists of a 10k, 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk. Awards will be given to the overall winner for make and female racers of the 5k and 10k, Ribbons will be given to all participants of the 1 mile fun run/walk.
The O'Fallon Founder's Day Celebration is packed with fun activities for the entire family. Live entertainment includes magic shows, a family bluegrass band, a comedy show, archaeology demonstrations, period artisans (rope making, wood carvers, quilters, bee keepers) and exhibits. Kids activities include stilt walking, cow milking, a General Store, checkers, tic tac toe, ring toss and a pioneer wash.
This year's Renaud Spirit Center 5K Run/Walk features a Cinco de Mayo costume contest with prizes for the top three athletes who best exemplify the spirit of Cinco de Mayo.
Don’t miss the grand opening celebration for Brendan’s Playground at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, in Paul A. Westhoff Park, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. At the end of the ceremony, kids will get to romp on the playground equipment for the first time. The newly-completed, universal playground design encourages kids of all abilities to play together.
