Families are welcome to this free event to honor the builders of the Gateway Arch and the 47th anniversary of its completion.

Step back in time at the St. Louis Old Courthouse where you'll meet and hear stories from people who worked in the courthouse or participated in the legal wranglings of the day. Listen to period music as you gather with friends in the rotunda for light refreshments. Admission is $15 per person.

A series of special programs will be presented in the Gateway Arch Visitor Center and Museum of Westward Expansion in honor of National Public Lands Day. All events are free of charge.
An American Bald Eagle will be available for public viewing from noon to 4 p.m. courtesy of the World Bird Sanctuary. While the $3 entrance fee is waived, fees to ride the tram to the top of the Gateway Arch and for viewing the films at the park remain in effect.
Jefferson National Expansion Memorial will celebrate the 96th birthday of the National Park Service with Camp In Under the Stars. An indoor campsite with music, storytelling and activities will take place in the Visitors Center under the Gateway Arch from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25.
Local teams will play baseball games under the Gateway Arch as they were played during the game's formative years in the 19th century. The event also includes hands-on displays of vintage uniforms and equipment, logo tracing and coloring plates of the past and present St. Louis Cardinals team logos, and the opportunity to learn the vocabulary used during the games then compared to today's terms.

This ranger-led twilight walk explores the various incarnations of buildings, people, and boats that once inhabited the area where the Gateway Arch stands today. Participants should meet at the north leg of the Arch at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. volunteers from the St. Louis Astronomical Society will set up telescopes for viewings of the moon and Saturn's rings, weather permitting. Free.
