You know you’re getting old when the topic of discussion
during your Girls Night Out includes the pros and cons of electric toothbrushes. (I’m all for them by the way.) But good oral health is serious business. And as you probably know from personal experience, getting kids to brush and floss their teeth is no easy task. If you want a little help, take them down to the Delta Dental Health Theatre on Laclede’s Landing.
Since 1977, they have been educating children on the care of their pearly whites through games, interactive programs and fun discussions. Thanks to a $145,000 renovation over the past few months, this unique facility is better than ever!
Come check out all the new improvements at the theatre’s free Kingdom of Healthy Smiles Family Fun Day. Take an excursion of the renovated theatre and explore the new interactive play exhibits and expanded resources available in the Cardinals Care Healthy Library. After the tour, head down to the grassy lot at the corner of First and Lucas Streets for a special medieval-themed outdoor festival.
The fun kicks off with parade starring Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants, Buzz Lightyear, Elmo and other characters. On the festival grounds, kids can play games, jump in a castle bounce house, have their photo taken with their favorite characters, dig for dinosaur teeth, get their face painted or enjoy a balloon artist, a pirate juggler and educational displays. The first 500 kids under 12-years-old will also receive free tickets for a future visit to the theatre, a tote bag and other giveaways.
Have you seen Kate Gosselin on the cover of People Magazine? Wowza!
Not too shabby for a mother of eight. Heck, most 20-year olds would be envious of her body. While Kate cops to a tummy tuck, she claims everything else is aux natural and credits her new physique to a healthy diet and daily runs. With eight kids, I have no idea how Kate has time to run a comb through her hair extensions, much less exercise. Between work, school activities and keeping your house in one piece, it can be hard for us non-reality television moms to squeeze in a workout. Plus, what do you do with the little ones while you work out?
