This summer the curtain will go up on a brand new camping experience: Camp Curtain Call! Children ages 8-11 are invited to experience the magic of live theater during a weeklong drama camp at The Magic House. Through fun activities and games, campers will learn every aspect of putting on a theatrical production including basic theater terms, line readings, projection, stage directions, rehearsing, props, scenery and dress rehearsal. For a grand finale, campers will present their theatrical production to a live audience and then give a special performance for their families on the last day of camp.
One-week sessions will take place June 11-15 or June 18-22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include a camp t-shirt, lunch and snacks. Camp Curtail Call is sure to draw big applause from performers and audiences alike. Camp Curtain Call is sponsored by the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation. Cost: $180 per camper per session.
Have fun in the Summer Studios Art Camps at Craft Alliance for ages 4-18! Sculpt clay or work on a potter's wheel, make colorful glass beads or silver and copper jewelry, learn to paint and draw, discover computer arts, weave with colorful yarns and create wearable art as you learn about textiles of the world. For teens try the afternoon intensives and become a Summer Camp Intern. One-week camps begin June 4 and run through August 10.
