Conservation makes Missouri not only a great place to hunt and fish, but it also gives us the opportunity to enrich our quality of life by simply viewing nature. Dresser Island on the Mississippi River is a great spot to hike and watch for pelicans, eagles and other spring migrants. We’ll walk to the northern end of the island where the pelicans tend to congregate and watch for swans, hawks, gulls and herons along the way. Dress for the weather. Viewing scopes will be provided. Bring your binoculars, field guides and hiking shoes or boots. You’ll walk up to four miles. Reservations are required. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ages 10 and up. Free. Columbia Bottom Conservation Area.
