Parents interested in learning about nutritous foods and well balanced diets, especially in school lunches,
are invited to attend this free screening of Two Angry Moms, a film made by two moms who were fed up with their children eating highly processed food filled with additives and preservatives at school. The screening is hosted by Raintree Learning Community, a Ballwin preschool that is a member of Local Harvest and the Slow Food Movement. It's campus meal program is run by a full-time chef who prepares all meals from scratch using organic dairy and produce, and connects the kitchen to the classroom with weekly baking and cooking classes.
The movie chronicles what can happen when fed-up moms start a grass-roots revolution aimed at establishing programs that safeguard the health of kids. 7-9 p.m. at West County Family YMCA, 16464 Burkhardt Place, Chesterfied. More information: www.undertheraintree.org or 636-386-0900.
