Purple martins are on their way back to the St. Louis area from South America. Are you ready for their arrival? Learn how you can help conserve these beautiful insect-eating, cavity-dwelling swallows that are native to Missouri. We will talk about purple martins and then discuss establishing and managing a colony in your own backyard. Weather permitting, you will also view the housing that a colony of purple martins uses each year at the Busch Visitor's Center. Reservations are required. Ages 14 and up. 9:30 to 11 a.m. Free. Have fun in the Summer Studios Art Camps at Craft Alliance for ages 4-18! Sculpt clay or work on a potter's wheel, make colorful glass beads or silver and copper jewelry, learn to paint and draw, discover computer arts, weave with colorful yarns and create wearable art as you learn about textiles of the world. For teens try the afternoon intensives and become a Summer Camp Intern. One-week camps begin June 4 and run through August 10.
