Make Your Mark Community Mural Project

Event Date:
Sat, 06/04/2011

Come help paint (paint-by-number style) a 500-foot mural on the 700-foot Monarch-Chesterfield Levee floodwall.

This huge undertaking is being facilitated by Chesterfield Arts. Enjoy this free Community Painting Day! The event will host a variety of food vendors, music and entertainment by local bands and additional "make and take" art activities for children ~ something fun for everyone!

Chesterfield Arts designed this unique leadership project for students in grades 8 - 12. The Student Leadership Team has been working since July 2010 to design and create the 500-foot wall mural for the new floodwall and Great Rivers Greenway recreation trail in the Chesterfield Valley.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The wall is located on Edison Avenue at Baxter Road in the Chesterfield Valley.  Parking on event day will be available in Chesterfield Commons near Chesterfield Commons East Drive  (toward the eastern end of the Target parking lot).

Today's Featured Camp

Ackermann's Swim Program

Ackermann's Swim Program has been teaching children ages 4 to 11 the life skill of swimming and water safety in Kirkwood for over 60 years. Our non-competitive, safe teaching environment builds confidence and self-esteem.

Group swim lessons take place in four heated pools with different water levels for progressive, safe learning. Enroll in one-week or two-week sessions. Hours are 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, with drop off and pick up at the curb. Visit ASPKirkwood.com to download an application.
