Ask A Teacher

Seems there are two kinds of parents: the ones who just go with the flow about their child’s education, ask few questions and take things as they come, and the ones who are brimming with curiosity from day one of their child’s conception. Educators are frequently posed questions at parties and other non-school functions such as “I have a seven year old who doesn’t quite say his ‘r’s’ right. Do you think he needs speech? Come here Johnny, and say 'rainbow.'”

In an effort to save fellow teachers from working in their precious off time, I’m initiating a weekly “Ask the Teacher” column. This is your chance to send me any question, big or small, past, present or future, and have me answer it in print for all your friends and family to see. Be anonymous if you’d like, or leave your name for five minutes of fame. Email me at Sharon.linde@sbcglobal.net, and we’ll get this party started next week.

But, just so you know, I won’t be able to tell you whether or not Johnny needs speech.
