What’s for dinner? A spicy pork sandwich? Carne Asada?
Salted caramel cupcakes? How about all of the above!
Instead of making multiple meals for all the picky eaters in your family, head over to Sauce Magazine’s Food Truck Friday in Tower Grove Park. While the food truck craze has taken off on the coasts, the scene in St. Louis is just heating up.
Come see what all the twitter chatter is about during the second year of Food Truck Friday. During this kid and pet-friendly event, nearly 20 of St. Louis’ favorite food trucks (did you know we even had that many) are in one convenient location.
From gourmet Mexican street eats to sweet potato falafels and summer rolls, there is a destination for every foodie in the family. Check out this lineup of vendors for 2012:
• Falafelwich Wagon
• Guerrilla Street Food
• Holy Crepe
• Sarah's Cake Stop
• Schlafly Beer
• Seoul Taco
• Shell's Coastal Cuisine
• The Sausage Syndicate
• The Sweet Divine
• 2 Girls 4 Wheels
• Le Food Truck
• Lulu’s Local Eatery
• Hot Aztec
• Zia’s Italian Food Truck
• Chop Shop
• Go Gyro Go
• Feed Me Truck
• Summer Truck
Besides offering a great selection of local eats, Food Truck Friday is a great place to relax after a hard week of work with a Schlafly, play a game of frisbee with your kids or make some new friends. Bring a blanket or set up some lawn chairs under the shady oaks of the city’s second largest park.
Food Truck Fridays are taking place on Friday June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14 and October 12 on the southwest side of Tower Grove Park from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, but get there early because lines can be long. And don’t worry about parking your car far from the action — Mini of St. Louis will have Countrymen roaming the park to help get hungry patrons to the event. For a list of food trucks and some helpful hints, visit Sauce Magazine's web site.
