Fridays are pretty fabulous just the way they are. Throw in a few cows and horses, a sprawling 98-acre park and some fun farm activities and you have one heckuva kickoff for the weekend.
On select Fridays throughout the summer, Suson Park is hosting Farm Fridays for children 12 and under. The fun includes hayrides around the park, pony rides, face painting and barn tours.Kids can visit with horses, cows, goats, pigs and even a few peacocks. Those baby goats are the cutest. Stay and enjoy your lunch under one of the reserved shelters before you descend on the playground. Or bring your fishing pole and hit one of Suson Park’s three lakes. They are stocked every three weeks by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
The next Farm Friday will be held May 21; other dates are June 18 and September 17. The special activities run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 a person, but if you register three weeks in advance, you can purchase them for $6 each. Advanced registration is recommended for individuals and required for groups of 10 children or more. Groups must retain a minimum ratio of one adult to every 10 children. For reservations call 314-615-8822. Check out the online flyer
for more information.
And if you can't make it on a Friday, remember that the farm is open daily for free visits with the animals.
