Keep Truckin’

Whenever I write about an event where the public can get up close to large trucks or machinery, I always wonder who is going to enjoy it more — the kids or the grownups? Maybe we can figure out the answer at Kemp Auto Museum’s third annual Big Truck Day. Climb aboard and explore some of the area’s largest trucks, including dump trucks, ambulances, excavators, hummers, and trucks from MODot. If you’re hungry after all that climbing around, refreshments will be available for purchase. And don’t forget to bring a camera.

Are fast cars are more your style? Come back in the fall for the Museum’s Ferraris on the Piazza event on September 12 and All Porsche Auto Show on October 17. Museum admission will be reduced to $5.00 for those events.

Located in Chesterfield, The Kemp Auto Museum houses automobiles from all over the world. It contains the Mercedes Benz collection of Fred M. Kemp, Sr. Kemp spent decades researching and acquiring over 40 rare and classic automobiles. After his death, his collection of cars was donated to the museum for exhibition and education. Today the Museum houses historically significant and artistically inspired automobiles from all over the world. The Kemp Auto Museum offers the public many education opportunities, including school programs, tours and workshops.

The Third Annual Big Truck Day is taking place on Sunday, August 8 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the Museum’s website or call them at 636-537-1718.
