Give Your Kids (And Yourself) A Break With a Fun Spring Break Camp

The recent warm weather is a great reminder that spring really is just around the corner. Time to start thinking of ways to keep the kids entertained during spring break.

A COCA Spring Break Art Camp is the perfect place for your young Adam Levine or Katy Perry to rock out. During this one-week extravaganza, kids age 3-to-11 can release their inner rock star through song, dance, fashion, drama and video production. Half-day camps such as Rock Tots, Rock Band, Goin’ Ga Ga and Music Video Production canbe paired to for a full-day experience. Before and after care is available for an additional fee.

Center of Creative Arts • March 19 - 23 • $105 per camp for members/$115 non-members plus a supply fee.

• Time off from school is a kick at a Vetta Sports’ Spring Break Camp! Held at Vetta’s St. Charles, Manchester and Webster Groves locations, these multi-sport camps will get kids ages 5-to-12 years old moving and grooving with their favorite recreational activities, inflatable bouncers and Xbox Kinect and Nintendo Wii stations. Participants will take to the field to play line tag, dodge ball, survivor and other games. Not only are these camps fun, the 13 to 1 camper to counselor ratio will assure that this experience is also safe. Camps are held at held during several weeks in the spring to correspond with local school’s spring break schedules.

• Ahoy maties! Set your sails toward YMCA Trout Lodge for a Pirate-themed spring break. Nestled on 5,200 acres of forest-covered hills, Trout Lodge is Missouri’s hidden gem. Youngsters can search for buried treasure with a Pirate-themed geocaching treasure hunt, cast their sails on Sunnen Lake or try a land-based game of Capture the Treasure Chest. Plus, the Lodge will have special Spring Break getaway packages that include lodging, meals and most activities.

• How do bodies in motion stay in motion? How do colors affect the way you feel? Junior scientists can find the answers to these and other burning questions at the Saint Louis Science Center’s Holidazed Day Camps. With a counselor to lead the way, campers will do fun, hands-on science-related activities and make projects to keep. All classes take place inside the Science Center and so campers can take full advantage of the exhibits, shows and galleries. Topics include Stellar Stories, Bodies in Motion, Physics Phun, Sweet Science and more. Recommended for mad scientists in first through fifth grade.

St. Louis Science Center or Science Off Center • March 16 and 19 - 23 • $25 per half-day session and $50 for full day for Science Center members; $25/$50 for non-members

Lil' Bear Baseball Day Camp at Washington University

Washington University in St. Louis Baseball hosts a week-long baseball day camp in which boys and girls will learn baseball basics, play in the sun (and shade) and best of all - have FUN! With an age-appropriate curriculum and a safe environment, our college baseball coaches will show your son or daughter what it takes to be a Lil' Bear through instruction, games, wiffle ball, and – because every kid wants to get in the pool – SWIM TIME!
