Yes We Can

The holiday movie rush is in full swing. Over the cold Thanksgiving holiday, we saw Rapunzel escape from her tower and find true love in the new movie Tangled. I give it a double thumbs up. Whether your family is a fan of Harry Potter or prefers the alien action of Brad Pitt’s voice in Megamind, head over to your local Wehrenberg Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 4, for the annual Cans Film Festival. Just bring in five canned food items per person and you’ll receive free admission to any movie that starts before 5 p.m. that day.

Donate 15 cans and receive admission to a matinee movie on the day of the collection plus a free movie pass for a future visit. Bring in the community's largest donation and your generosity will be awarded with a year-long movie pass!

All food collected for the Wehrenberg Cans Film Festival benefits the Salvation Army’s Tree of Lights campaign. Last year, this event brought in more than 275,000 cans, which helped stock local food pantries. Your family gets an inexpensive day out at the movies and a family in need gets food on their dinner table. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Seating is limited to theater capacity, so get to the show early. The popular (and expensive) 3-D shows are also included in the promotion. For more information on the Wehrenberg Cans Film Festival or for a list of participating theaters, visit Wehrenberg’s website or check your local paper.
